About The Women's Network
Founded in 1997 by Newman University faculty members Sister Glenda Reimer (a member of the Sisters of Charity) and Sister Susan Reeves (a member of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ), the organization formerly known as the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN), was launched to help survivors of domestic abuse escape the cycle of financial dependence. After many years of dedicated service to the community, WIN partnered with another well-known organization, Dress for Success Wichita (DFSW), to form The Women’s Network.
A Message from The Board Chair, Stephanie Jakub
The Women’s Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of women who have experienced trauma or face economic disadvantages.
Based in Wichita, Kansas, we provide programs that enhance economic security and personal well-being, empowering women to thrive both at work and in life. Our two key programs include the Domestic Violence Recovery Employment Program and Dress for Success Wichita.
The Domestic Violence Employment Recovery Program supports survivors of domestic violence by offering transitional employment opportunities, skills training, and trauma-informed holistic healing resources to help them rebuild their lives.
Our Dress for Success Wichita program empowers women to achieve economic independence through a network of support, professional attire, and career development resources designed to foster confidence and career success.
At The Women’s Network, we are committed to equipping women with the resources and opportunities they need to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every woman has the skills, confidence, and opportunities to achieve self-sufficiency through meaningful employment. By unlocking their potential, women find their voice, define their purpose, and transform their lives. Empowered women become catalysts for change, driving economic growth and fostering stronger families and thriving communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to equip women with the tools, resources, and support needed to overcome trauma, achieve economic security, and thrive in work and life. Through programs like the Domestic Violence Employment Program and Dress for Success Wichita, we provide skills training, career development, and holistic guidance to empower women to achieve emotional and financial stability, independence, and lasting success.
